I was born and raised in Oxford, Ohio, but have called Atlanta home for 25 years. Since I can remember, I have been interested in raising and exhibiting purebred animals. Although I decided to concentrate my efforts into my dogs, through my two brothers, I still have strong connections to the cattle and horse worlds. During high school and college I showed Quarter Horses at a national level and for a period I stood at stud several top notch stallions including AQHA Champion, Superior Western Pleasure, Oakabar Hank an own son of Tonto Bar’s Hank.

My first and all time favorite purebred dog was a Pembroke Welsh Corgi named Loveletter’s Maisie Dumant. I have recently started writing down some of the crazy stories I have of her many misadventures. I’ll be glad to share them with you—just ask me the next time you see me. My Maisie started what would become over 30 years in purebred dogs. I have bred champion Whippets for over 30 years and I was an all breed professional handler for more than 5 years, exhibiting top ranked Welsh Corgis, Bearded Collies, Miniature Pinschers and, of course, Whippets. |

I am still showing my Whippets of course but now I also wear another hat. I am now judging. So far I am AKC approved for Afghans, Borzoi, Salukis, Whippets and Junior Showmanship. I am AKC provisional for Dachshunds, Irish Wolfhounds, Scottish Deerhounds and Rhodesian Ridgebacks. I am hoping to get my provisional assignments completed soon so I can apply for more of the hound group! |
