What can I say? I’ve been an animal nut since I was a little boy bringing home tortoises and horny toads that I would find as I followed my grandfather around the farm. I grew up in Brownfield, TX, on a cotton farm and I have always been drawn to that kind of life. My career took me away to the big city but, here at Tripletime, I still have a piece of the country life on our 3.5 acres. It is so pretty here. I always had an old horse around to ride growing up, lots of cows around the place and showed all sorts of animals in FFA. I think that is why, when the chance presented itself, I took to showing dogs with zest! My favorites are the hounds and the toys—very different, I know. I am considering applying for my AKC judges license soon but I am just not sure that I am ready for that chapter of my life to open. I am still having so much fun exhibiting and, even though it is possible, it would be tough for me to concentrate on both showing and judging. I have several little Nigerian Dwarf Goats that keep me laughing constantly and I can’t wait until there are little kids running around at Tripletime! |

Top Left: Me and my Grandma, Mary Corning Roe, in her back yard in Brownfield, Texas, 1968 Top Right: My Grandpa, C.M. “Mon” Roe, with a couple of his coyote hunting hounds and an unlucky coyote, June 1969. I look so much like him now, it’s scary. Left: Me and a prize winning Duroc gilt that I bred in 1983. I also had the breed champion Duroc that year but I can’t find that picture...Look at that crazy hair! Bottom Left: A picture I took on a trip home to Brownfield in Spring 2005. It is the corner of the place we called the “Snake Farm”. No trees & lots of sand! Bottom Right: The 2007 cotton crop was one of the best in a long while. My sister took this picture from my family home with her cell phone camera and sent it to me. |
